My mother unexpectedly and suddenly passed away last year on Mother's Day
This week is going to be rather different and difficult for my family
May 10th would have been her birthday
Sunday is our first Mother's Day without her
Monday 13 is the 1st anniversary of her passing

But, she loved that I have a passion for creating and making cards
And she had a passion for flowers and gardening
So this BRIGHT and CHEERY card is for you MOM, I miss you and love you

Free Choice Challenge Theme at Scrappy Frogs

New monthly challenge for Scrappy Frogs begins today

Our new theme - FREE CHOICE

I had such a busy weekend and felt like my creative MOJO had left me... which would be so SAD :(

At times I get too use to having a theme or sketch to inspire me from the Design Teams I am on,
an this FREE CHOICE really stumped me and I was limited on time

So this is a quick card I am sharing today...

What I decided to do was dig through my stash of papers, embellishments, etc...
in hopes of finding something to inspire me
In the end, I settled for using an Echo Park mini theme collection kit called Just Married
There were papers, stickers and punch outs to use.
I found a scrap piece of aqua cardstock to use and quickly made this wedding card

I finished it off with a black ribbon/bow and these wonderful teal and silver brads from my stash

So I challenge you to make something wonderful - FREE CHOICE of course
but maybe you can find something in your stash to use as well

I look forward to seeing what you come up with this month

Thanks for coming by - Catch the Frenzy! - Karen

Sketchy Friday - No More :(

Well today would have been my day to post as a Design Team member for Sketchy Friday

However...
Sonia had announced to the Design Team earlier this week that she is closing the challenge blog
No More Sketchy Friday, which makes me really sad  :(
I've really enjoyed being a part of Sonia's Design Team from the beginning of Sketchy Friday
 and using her wonderful images

Good News...
Sonia will still continue to draw and create digital images which you can purchase at SKdigis
as well as sponsor other challenge blogs

Since I had already created my card for what would have been sketch #17...
I thought I would post it anyway

Pattern paper 6 x 6 Bo Bunny - Camp-a-lot Collection
Used my Copic markers to color the image:
E11, E33, E35, E37, G21, YG63, YG67, R27, YR04, Y11
White gelly roll pen
Leaves were cut from Cricut Cartridge - Ultimate Creative Series Sampler
Heritage using Bonus overlay #3 at 2-1/2" and 3"
Finished with wooden button, yellow bakers twine and adhesive pearls

Here's the sketch for you to use, even if there isn't a challenge - it's a great sketch to try

Thanks for stopping by - I hope you enjoyed my card share today
