You've stolen My Heart - Digi Haven Challenge

Another fortnight challenge begins today - Friday 19, 2013 over at DIGI HAVEN

Our theme is ANY ANIMAL
and
I am OH SO EXCITED to share my card with you today

Our sponsor for this challenge is MY GRAFICO
Our Design Team was able to play around with the WOODLAND ANIMALS set,
Which is totally ADORABLE and I fell in love with the cute little RACCOON
He has STOLEN MY HEART!

I started with teal 6 x 6 cardstock, layered with designer paper from Authentique - Celebrate

I printed the image at approximately 5 x 4 and copied it several times to get all the layers for piecing

The sentiment is computer generated by me

To finish the card I added a red heart punch for this cutie to hold, goggle eyes and rhinestones

I hope this card has stolen your heart as well

Thanks so much for stopping by today - I hope you all have a FABULOUS weekend
My hubby and I will be attending the Paul McCartney concert at Safeco Field - Seattle tonight
***AWESOME***

Red White and Blue for Digi Haven

I hope everyone one had a Happy and Safe
4th of July Celebration

We certainly did...
The afternoon started with lunch and beer at a local Irish Pub, outdoor seating
Then watching a 4th of July parade
We took a walk around a little lake and park in the late afternoon
Next stop...
Another park where we listened to a live band while waiting for the fireworks display to start

Just a great day hanging with the hubster

Now that we are home - it's 11:00 p.m. and I need to write this blog entry for Friday morning

My share today is for the Design Team at Digi Haven

Our theme for this fortnight challenge is RED, WHITE and BLUE
Please remember to use a digital image  or sentiment in your creation
You can read the rules on "How to Play" HERE

I decided to make a 4th of July rosette to hang as a decoration

My FREE sentiment can be found HERE

My inspiration came from a tutorial I found on You Tube - which I adapted to make a smaller size
as well as adding my own finishing touches

Pattern paper from Bo Bunny - Anthem
Kraft paper from My Favorite Things
Large Doily die cut - Martha Stewart Crafts  found HERE
Stars were cut from Cricut cartridge - George & Basic Shapes - page 115 <star1> at 2 1/2"
Tim Holtz Distress Ink - Tea Dye
Finished my project with Red Rhinestones, Wooden star buttons tied with navy blue fibers
And last of all - used Raffia with Red and Blue fibers for the hanging

Part One

When you are finished watching Part One...you can watch Part Two

I hope you enjoyed my share today, as well as the tutorial
Make sure to visit Digi Haven and check out the rest of the wonderful Design Team's creations
I look forward to seeing your RED, WHITE and BLUE projects
Creative Belli - Challenge #173 - Stars (I used old wooden star button/twine)

It's Technique Time Tuesday

Maybe you noticed I have been gone for a month, maybe not!

Either way...I am so excited to finally be spending time in my creative space and making cards again.
Life was a little hectic the past couple of months, with no time to devote to creating, oh so sad!

New job - 3 months into it and I absolutely LOVE it!
Positive, Drama Free and wonderful co-workers.

My fathers 5 days a week, for 7 weeks of radiation is complete!
Myself, hubby & siblings took turns driving dad each day to his appointments, a lot of miles.
He is doing great - skin graph on his neck is healing well.

One year anniversary of my Mother's passing on Mother's Day last year - it was an emotional time.
We celebrated Mother's Day this year at her graveside.
Lot's of flowers and a hummingbird showed up - she would have loved that!

Anyway, that is what has been going on with me these past couple of months

Now it's my turn to share with you a new technique for my DT at Technique Time Tuesday

Blurred Vision Stamping

I used 3 older Close to My Heart images from the set - C1397 Smiles
White A2 card with Watermelon cardstock - which I stamped up using the same flower
I used Watermelon and Topiary water based dye ink also from CTMH

Make sure you check out the Tutorial for directions on how to do the Blurred Vision Stamping
I used a paint brush for this technique
Note:  When using my water brush, too much water, causing a big, messy puddle on the paper

I finished my card by adding pink gingham paper to the center
Layered the stem and leaf image over the top, cut out the flower and used mounting tape to adhere
Green ribbon with bow tied to hold metal tag with sentiment
A yellow button for the flower center

I hope you will take a moment to visit Technique Time Tuesday
and see what the rest of the Design Team created for your inspiration.
Now it's your turn to be inspired, maybe get out of your comfort zone and try something new.
I look forward to seeing what you come up with using the Blurry Vision Technique

Take care and have a Terrific Tuesday!
