Cherish...

Today I am sharing another card I made for From the Heart weekly sketch challenge
Sketch #136 (see below) - the TWIST - Shabby Chic/Vintage
You can find the challenge HERE

Here's my card...I was trying to practice sepia tone coloring with my Copic markers
Definitely need to work on it, and I definitely need new colors and more markers, but...
I kind of like the way it looks against the black - it was a great sketch to try too!

My card is an A2 base, cut the 11" by 4.25", folded along the 4.25" at the top
I layered with distressed black  patterned paper and my 2 coordinating squares

The image is from the Easter Trio
I colored the image using the following Copic markers: E31, E33, E37, YR20 Blender
To finish the card, I added light tan pearls and ribbon to attach my sentiment

Thanks for coming by this afternoon, make sure to check out the weekly sketch
and the new Stamp of the Month Challenge starting tomorrow

Have a great week - Karen

Bee Mine

Good morning...today I am posting my first SPOTLIGHT post as a Design Team member for Kitty Bee Designs

Here's my card, using this cute little Bee and sentiment from the Bumble Bee set #1 - Adorable!

Check out the blog for more inspiration using Kitty Bee Designs.  Make sure to click on the SHOP tab, which will take you to the Etsy shop where you can check out other cute images for sale.

I colored the image using, the following Copic markers:  Blender, B00, C-1, C-3, C-5, Y08, Y15, Y17

I did a little paper piecing on the bee, cutting out the top of the head and the body to give it a dimensional look.

My card is standard A2 card, cut lengthwise, 11" x 4.25" with the fold along the top of  the 4.25" side.  I layered with black & pink heart patterned paper from a 6" x 6" pad from American Crafts called XOXO

I added a strip of black cardstock and framed the Bee behind the Postage Stamp die.  The sentiment was added to the Banner die and tucked underneath the frame.  Both dies from My Favorite Things.

To finish the card, I added hearts in coordinator shades of pink, using a Memory Box die set, called Stitched Heart Layers.  This was a FUN card and this little Bee makes me SMILE!

Thanks for coming by today, hope you enjoyed my share and please leave a comment.

Puppy Love...

Today I am sharing another card I made for From the Heart,  i {heart} sketches challenge #134 found  HERE.  The sketch, you will find below, and the twist this week:  Dots and Stripes.

When I first saw this sketch, I immediately thought to use my Washi tape.  Here's my card, I hope you enjoy it.  Let me know what you think by leaving a comment.

For my card I used this cute little pup with heart and one of the sentiment from Ali's Paper Hearts

I colored the image using the following Copic markers:  Blender, C-1, C-3, C-5, RV02, RV06.

A2 base is white, with a piece of lilac cardstock layered on top.  The Washi tape I used, perfect for Dots and Stripes twist.

The image cut/mounted on top of the lavender cardstock with the sentiment banner tucked behind.  I finished the card with lavender and purple sequins.

This is a totally cute image and very quick and easy card to make.

Snow Friend...

This morning I am sharing a card I made for the Whimsie Doodles monthly challenge.

This month is a color challenge, which I find both challenging and inspiring.  It makes me stop and ponder, "what am I going to make", as well as, gets my creative thoughts flowing.  You will find the challenge HERE if you want to play along, you have until January 13.

My card is a standard A2 card using solid cardstock from my stash of paper.

I printed the image Snow Friends and sentiment, cut out circles using my Spellbinder Nestabilities circle die set.

The image was colored using the following Copic markers:  Blender, BG01, BG15, BV23, BV31, Y17, YR31

I ran the strip of aqua cardstock through my Cuttlebug, using the snowflake embossing folder.  I then rubbed Versa Craft White Pigment ink over the raised snowflake impressions.

The card was finished with a ribbon bow and Pretty Pink Posh, Clear Droplets.

This was a really great color combo, and I really like how the card turned out.

Hope you enjoyed my sharing today and I hope you have a really great week.

Thanks again for coming by.

A pretty pail of flowers...

Good morning and thanks for visiting my blog.

Today I have a share I created for the i {heart} sketches challenge #133 over at From the Heart
(see the sketch below)  The twist this week:  Black/White and one other color.

I love playing along at  From the Heart Stamp.  They not only have the weekly sketch challenge, they also have a monthly Stamp of the Month challenge, and everyone who enters the challenge will receive the next SOM free!  I love the images and inspiration. You will find the challenge HERE.

For my card this week I used the Pail of Flowers image, which you can find  HERE. This image comes with two sentiments:  dear friend and just for you.

I felt inspired to make a little 6" x 3" note card using the Pail of Flowers image.  My additional color is Bright Pink, which really pops when combined with Black and White.  And of course I flipped the sketch, so that the circle and banners would be at the top.

I colored the image using the following Copic markers:  Blender, C-1, C-3, C-5, G00, G02, RV02, RV04, RV06

My solid cardstock papers were from my stash, dotted white on black paper from Echo Park, 6" x 6" pad Dots & Stripes Valentines, but the strange thing, there is no stripes in this pad!

I finished the card with tiny white pearls for the flower centers.

Thank you for stopping by today.
I hope you enjoyed my card
and I always appreciate your comments.

For You...

Today I am sharing a card I made for the i {heart} sketches challenge at From the Heart.  I was inspired by sketch #132 below. You can do the sketch and/or choose to add the twist, Distress Edges.

I decided to flip the sketch, as that worked better with the idea playing out in my head.  I used this cute image called Candy Cane for Snowman, which you can find HERE.

I colored the image using the following Copic markers:
Blender, B00, BG01, E35, E53, G21, R22, R27, YG63
YR04

My solid base cardstock was from my stash of scraps, the striped cardstock was a piece from EP in The Story of Christmas collection.

I distressed edges using Ranger Distress ink in Tea Dye and finished the card with 3 punched snowflakes and rhinestones.

I hope you enjoyed my card share today.  Leave a comment, I love to hear from my followers.

Now off to watch the last Seahawks game of the season.

Thanks from stopping by - Karen
