Brighter days...

Are on their way

My Mid-Inspiration card is for the Design Team at Kitty Bee Design's
Aloha Friday Challenge #70 - April Showers

Here's my card...

Our sponsors for this challenge are:

My card base is 5.5" x 5.5" using sky blue cardstock from my stash

The image is called Rain from Star Stampz and colored in the following Copic markers:
Blender, B000, B00, B02, C-1, C-3, E00, E02, E11, E21, E33, R22, R27, R29, R59, RV21, Y08, Y17, YG06, YG23.  I also used a .3 multi liner in black on the hair

Sentiment I made on the computer, printed on yellow cardstock and used Spellbinders circle die to cut out.  I added a couple of clouds using the Precious Clouds set from Memory Box, which I sponged around the edges with sky blue ink for added dimension

A yellow ribbon/bow finished the card

This would be a great card for a friend going through tough times, who may need a word of encouragement, I love this saying

I hope you like my card, and I hope you will have a chance to join us in the last week of the challenge.  I look forward to seeing your creations for the April Showers challenge found HERE

Thanks for coming by today,

Karen

With Heartfelt Sympathy...

I had a spare 30 minutes last night, while waiting for hubby to come home
We were going out to dinner for a DATE NIGHT
and I needed to keep myself busy while I waited
So what to do?  Why make a card of course!

So, I made a quick card for the i {heart} sketch, sketch #147 (see below)

The TWIST this week, Lots of Patterned Paper

I used the new Stamp of the Month set for April at From the Heart Stamps
The set is Time to Bloom
You can get the set FREE and join in the monthly progressive challenge HERE

I made a sympathy card, but thankfully, I do not have a need to use the card at this time

My card is a standard A2 white card base, layered with 3 patterned papers from a 6" x 6" pad from Memory Box - Viola, following the sketch pattern.  I really love Purple, Lavender and Green together, very calming color combo

The butterfly image was colored using my Copic markers:  BV00, BV02, BV04, C-1, YG03, YG09

I then cut out the butterfly and mounted on to the card.  I added one of the sentiments from the set and finished the card with a lavender ribbon/bow and some mixed shades of purple sequins

Thanks for stopping by tonight and let me know what you think of my card.  I love to hear from you.  Have a great weekend.

This Bud's for you...

I wanted to share a quick card I made for the March Challenge at Whimsie Doodles

The theme this month is: Calling all Critters (animals)

I decided to use "This Bud's for you!" found in the Freebie Section
The image was my very first Whimsie Doodles image used to make a card back in 2012
Check out the SHOP for many other freebies and other adorable and cute images

My base is a standard A2 white card, layered with sky blue and red, dotted paper strip

I colored the turtle using the following Copic markers:  Blender, B00, E31, R22, R27, R29, YG00, YG03 and YG06.  I then cut the image out and mounted on top of a 2.5" white circle die

The finishing touches: sentiment printed on white tag and tucked under the red, dotted strip and white, blue and red sequins

There's still one more week to join in the fun!  I hope you'll be able to link up a Critter card and remember to check out the Freebies for an image to use
