May 10th would have been her birthday
Sunday is our first Mother's Day without her
Monday 13 is the 1st anniversary of her passing

But, she loved that I have a passion for creating and making cards
And she had a passion for flowers and gardening
So this BRIGHT and CHEERY card is for you MOM, I miss you and love you

Image is called Flowers from QKR Stampede, who is one of our sponsors this week.

#56 for Tammy's Scrapin' Corner

Our new weekly challenge for Tammy's Scrapin' Corner starts today with a new theme...

April Fools or Funny Birthday Card

Front of card using Party Fruits

Inside of card...

If you have read my other post, you know that I was having computer issues all week
I was not able to print these digital images out on card stock, so this is on plain copy paper
I didn't want to miss my Design Team responsibility or my weekly Monday post
I colored the images using my Copic markers, and too my surprise, they didn't bleed
They are darker, as they saturated the paper more, and I didn't get a great blending of color
However, I did get my card done after our family Easter dinner
Yeah... I am so happy, happy, happy!

The images are from a new sponsor Deasy Designs

We also have SKdigis as a sponsor as well

I really hope you will be able to join us this week for our challenge
I look forward to seeing wha tyou come up with for your April Fools or Funny Birthday Card

Until then - Catch the Frenzy! - Karen

Anything but a Card challenge at...

Tammy's Scrapin' Corner with Challenge #55 - Anything but a Card

I decided to make a little note pad cover, using the Pen Pal Mouse from Meljen's
I have a lot of these little golf pencils left over from a previous project from many years ago
They are perfect for this type of project.

My note pad measures 3-1/2" x 5"
I covered the front on the pad with Aqua cardstock, cut at 3-1/2" x 6, adhere the extra 1" at the back
I used the Cricut - Elegant Edges pg. 37 to cut the <Stamp-s> at 3-1/2" on red cardstock.
Printed and cut my Pen Pal Mouse image into a 3" x 3" square
Colored the image using the following Copic markers:
BG10, C-1, C-5, E02, E31, E33, R00, R20, R22, R27, Y02, Y08, Y17
I created a yellow 1-1/2" square banner and used old letter stickers to spell out NOTES
I also cut a strip of yellow cardstock to hold my pencil
Adhere this strip to the back of the pad and then to the front prior to attaching the image over the top
Finishing touch - added a gingham ribbon and bow

We have 3 wonderful sponsors this week

Now make sure to check out the blog for all the creative ideas the Design Team has come up with.
They are very INSPIRATIONAL
Now use your imagination to create Anything but a Card and share it with us this week
I look forward to seeing what you come up with.

Challenge #53 with Tammy's Scrapin Corner

It's Monday morning!
And its back to work after a lovely weekend filled with card making, church and lunch with friends.
I trust everyone had a great weekend too!

Oh, and I have a new job...
I am now working at our School District Building in the Business Services Department.
So excited to be out of the school site and no longer an Office Manager.
I will miss many people: staff (you know who you are), families and students. Others...not so much!
My closest friends know my situation and this is a true answer to prayer. (PTL)
After accepting this position, I did receive word from another application I submitted for the City.
This position was for Administrative Assistant.
Out of 505 applications, I was one of 25 asked back to the next step in the process, a 2 hour test.
I did turn it down, as I had already accepted the District position, but this news really made my day.

I feel so blessed to have a new job, in a department where I will be appreciated and supported.
It already feels good and like family.

Anyway, enough of that... on with this weeks challenge at Tammy's Scrapin Corner
Challenge #52 - RED and GREEN plus a RIBBON
