New Sketch for TSOT

Well yesterday (Monday), I had a long, boring day of waiting...
Seven hours sitting at the King County Regional Courthouse - Jury Duty... Oh Lucky me!
I was dismissed for the day around 3:00 p.m., however I need to possibly return today (Tuesday)
I am hoping when I check the website later on Monday evening, I will not need to return

Anyway, I have created a new card today for my Design Team at Try Stampin' on Tuesday
Team B has sketch #153 to inspire you this week (see sketch below)
The TWIST:  Keep Warm

Here's my card... A VALENTINE card, but I decided not to do the TWIST:  Keep Warm
But you know what? I think it may have the TWIST after all...
If you are hugging the one you LOVE, that would Keep you Warm, right?

I chose to do a classic White, Red and Black 6" x 6" card

My base is black cardstock layered with red cardstock cut at 5-12" x 4"
My designer papers - "Just Married" Collection kit by Echo Park
Cut two at 3-1/2" x 1-3/4" and cut the other two at 1-3/4" x 1-1/2"
This kit contained stickers to use, so I layered the sentiment banner on top of red cardstock
Using scissors, I trimmed the edges to match the banner sticker

To finish the card:
Using a heart punch - punch out three hearts to add to the card
I scored both ends of the banner to attach it to the card with a slight curve to it
I added tiny adhesive pearls to both ends of the banner, and to the three hearts as well
I then added larger adhesive pearls to the top left corner of the card

This card was finished in less than 10 minutes and not a single stamp or digital image was used

There is so much more to see and inspire you on the Blog
Check it out and see what the rest of the DT from Team B has to share

I invite you to join us this week and create something awesome using sketch #153

Snow Buddies...

Today I am sharing my Design Team card I made for  Digi Haven

We have another fortnight challenge starting today

Our Theme:  SNOW BUDDIES

Our sponsor is Dilly Beans

I have to say that I absolutely LOVE my card
I wasn't sure how it was going to come together, but in the end it all worked out...LOVE IT!

I started with a light pink A2 card base
Layered the top portion with Kraft cardstock - embossed with my Cuttlebug & snowflake folder
To get the snowflakes white - rub Versa Craft white ink over the top
When you do this, the ink sticks to the raised up embossed parts only - How FUN is that!
Next I layered two pieces of dotted embossed white cardstock with torn and inked edges

I colored the snowman with Copic makers in the following colors:
RV000, RV13, YG41, YG63, YR02, YR07, BV31, BV23
Next step, cut the snowman out and tuck him behind the front snow drift

Sentiment from My Favorite Things - Pure Innocence - Snow Day
Attach the sentiment with two brads

I created some banners with scrap pieces of cardstock from a 6 x 6 pack of paper
My Minds Eye - Merry Little Christmas
This paper pack is becoming one of my FAVORITES!

I finished the card by adding a wooden button tied with jute

I hope you enjoyed my card today - because I sure enjoyed making it

I invite you to come play along with us for this challenge
Check out the rest of the Design Team creations - there is some AWESOME Inspiration

Thanks for taking some time to stop by my blog - it is Appreciated

Until next time...Catch the Frenzy! - Karen

Sketch Time with Try Stamipin' on Tuesday

Back today to share my Design Team card for Try Stampin' on Tuesday

TSOT Team B has another great sketch to inspire you this week
(see sketch below)

Here's my card inspired by Sketch #151 and the TWIST: Love Plaid
My card ended up being a Masculine card - which is the perfect theme for using plaid

Start with an A2 Kraft cardstock base, layered with some really old speckled cardstock in my stash
I cut a 2-1/2" Star from the kraft cardstock using my Cricut - George and Basic Shapes
Twine wrapped around the card and added to a wooden button, placed in the center of the Star
My plaid papers, rhinestones and paperclip were from a Recollections embellishment pack
I purchased several packs, with different themes about 1-1/2 years ago
They were hiding in the $1.00 bin at Michaels and I knew one day I would find a use for them

I really enjoyed using this sketch this week...it has many possibilities!

Sketch #151

Remember to check out the other DT cards from Team B and get inspired
I hope you can make time this week to play along...I would love to see what you come up with

Thanks for stopping by today - Happy Tuesday

Baby it's COLD Outside...

Today I am back with my Design Team card for Digi Haven

For this fortnight challenge our THEME is:  Baby it's COLD Outside

Our Sponsor is Bugaboo
and I am using the Winter Bird - Scarf image for my card today...

I started with an A2 white cardstock base that opens at the top
I layered it with DP from 6" x 6" pad from My Minds Eye - Merry Little Christmas
I ran DP paper through my Cuttlebug using a die from My Favorite Things for the scalloped edges
The image was colored using the following Copic markers:
B00, B02, BG01, RV000, RV13, Y06, Y17, YG41, Blender
I finished the card by adding a punched snowflake, sponged with baby pink ink
The bird has black adhesive rhinestones for eyes and a pom pom on the hat
I also added a cluster of 3 adhesive rhinestones to the upper left and one in center of the snowflake

I absolutely LOVE the way this card turned out...
I LOVE this image and  I LOVE this paper too!

I hope you like my share today and I invite you to join us for the challenge

Triple Stamping with TTT

It's the first Tuesday of the month and that means a new Technique over at Technique Time Tuesday

Are you ready to Learn Something New?

Well, this months technique might not be new for all of you,
but it is always FUN to revisit a technique from time to time
For me, it's been years since I have created a card using the TRIPLE STAMPING technique
I really love the way my card turned out...

I decided to make what I call a LONG card... which measures 3-1/2" x 8-1/2" Yellow card base
My layers for the triple stamping are:
3" x 5-1/2", 2" x 4-1/2", 1" x 3-1/2"
The black cardstock is cut 1/8" larger on all sides of all 3 pieces
I layered a piece of  black with white dots designer paper cut at  3-1/2" x 3"

My image is by Josephine Kimberling for Impress
I colored the image with Copic markers in the following colors:
BV13, BV31, Y11, Y15, Y17, YG41, YG63

To finish my card:  a yellow ribbon/bow, metal tag with sentiment and lots of adhesive pearls

I hope you enjoy my card and will be inspired to join us this month
Make sure to check out the Tutorial  over at the TTT blog

Thinking of You...

A quick post tonight, as I wanted to play along over at Colour Me Card Challenge
This is a NEW challenge blog hosted by co-creators, Hayley and Tara
I have been waiting for their very first challenge, however with the holidays...
it kind of snuck up on me and  I needed to get the card completed and posted today

Here it the inspiration photo...

And here is my card...

So sorry, but this is the closest paper choice I had to work with - Twilight

To make this card:

I started with kraft A2 card base layered with ivory cardstock cut 5.25" x 4"
I added a piece of 2.5" x 4.25" designer paper, old Close to My Heart from my stash
The solid cardstock is Twilight, which I cut a small strip for the bottom of the card and a banner
I stamped the Thinking of you sentiment with Twilight ink onto the banner

To finish:  I added a light gold ribbon/bow and some adhesive pearls

I know it's probably to late to join in this week, but they will post a new challenge each Wednesday
Check it out here and you may want to play along next week.

Thanks for stopping by to check out my quick post tonight
I am heading back to work tomorrow, after two full weeks off for the holiday,
which has been an awesome time enjoying family time, parties with friends and crafty time
I hope you will enjoy your Monday
