Colorful Creations Frenzy Card Challenge

This month I am hosting a Card Challenge over at Colorful Creations, where you will need to create a card that is inspired by my sample.

Whether you were inspired by the layout, colors or the butterfly, you will need to follow a few simple rules:

I created my card using a great find that I purchased at Goodwill for $5.00.  An unused box of Anna Griffin wedding invitations, which included the invitations, thanks you cards, envelopes and these wonderful teal, flocked pouches and beautiful dimensional, glittered butterflies.  I love great finds like this and couldn't wait to make something.  I combines the teal pouch with chocolate brown, ivory polka dotted paper.

Tu Tu Cute

Today's share is a card I made for Fantabulous Cricut Challenge Me Monday #111.  The challenge is to make a project using a tux/dress or prom/dance theme.  The Design Team has some fabulous project to share, so please stop by this week and play along with us.

My card today features a pink and kraft color combo, which is fun to work with.  I used a digi image from Bugaboo Stamps, colored her in with the following Copic markers.

E00, E02, E21, E33, E35, RV10, RV21, RV23

I used the following Cricut cartridges:  Just Because, page 42 <Truck-s> for the scallop edge cut at 5".  George and Basic shapes the cut the numbers and letters, cut at 1"

Layer all pieces together as shown in the photo, working back to front.  I trimmed the paper I used for the numbers with a square punch to make banners.  For the finishing touches, I added two flowers, layered and pink adhesive rhinestone to the center.  I also added same rhinestones to the banner and upper edge of pink paper.

Sketch-A-Thon at Colorful Creations

Happy Tuesday and thanks for stopping by today.  I have a layout to share with you that I created for Colorful Creations.  Colorful Creations is turning 2 and we are celebrating by having a month long Sketch-A-Thon.  Each day there will be new sketch and sample layout submitted by one of our Design Team members.  There will be a giveaway to the person who has submitted the most completed layouts, as well as other prizes from various Design Team members.

I will be giveaway a $15.00 Michael's gift card to one randomly drawn winner who has submitted a layout based on my sketches.  I will be submitting on 5/8 and 5/21.  I hope you have a chance to play along with us this month.


My sketch is one I came up with myself, at least I think so?  Anyway, please excuse my hand drawn sketch.  I am still learning how to use Photoshop Elements, so I decided to do a digital layout.  I do not have much digital choices at this time, but I am more of a clean and simple
scraper.  I hope you like the sketch and the layout. And that you may have a chance to play along with us this month.

Colorful Creations

I have some fun creations to share today that I made for challenges over at Colorful Creations this past week.  As a DT member, we encourage each other to play along with other DT monthly challenges.  I love being a part of this design team, as it has given me an opportunity to get scrapping again.  I kinda pushed that aside for a few years, but excited to be back creating layouts.  This blog also offers card challenges, altered art, craft items and more.  Please check out the blog and join in on a challenge or two.

I'm sew happy!

The tag I am sharing tonight is one I made for Colorful Creations monthly challenge.  As I am on the Design Team at Colorful Creations, I like to participate in my follow DT members monthly challenges.  Andrew hosts a Tag of the Month challenge, and this months theme was vintage. 


I started with a 3-1/8" x 6-1/2"  piece of corrugated cardboard and layered that with Jolees Boutique paper pad - French General, rounded the corners on the tag.  I layered lace and red striped paper, also from Jolees Boutique. Next I colored, distressed and cut out my dress form, which is a digi image.  I used Tim Holtz Distress Ink - Tea dye on the dress form, as well as sponging the larger flower on the paper.  I used Memento Tuxedo Black to stamp the stitched zigzag image and the sentiment, both from Close to My Heart #C1234 Simple Stitches.  I found the snaps, navy thread and navy seam binding at a local thrift store, which had many fun things inside the bag. The flower was made by cutting 6 circles from old pattern tissue.  All other elements were found in my stash.

Another Design Team Call

I'm just so excited to announce...


I have been asked to join Colorful Creations Design Team. It's "A place where scrappers can come to Craft, Create and Share. Come Grow With Us!"  The site is not only for scrappers, but for card makers too.  I will be hosting a bi-monthly card challenge.  My first challenge will be up on April 1, so please make sure to check my challenge and other Design Team members challenges as well.
