For my project I used the From the Library of:
Honestly, I was the last DT to make my selection and this was the only one left
I did find it kind of difficult to use, but in the end I thought "Why not a bookmark!"
Then it was really hard to decide on which TWO COLORS to use

So here it is...

All papers from my stash and to finish the bookmark:
lavender rhinestones, spelled my name with stickers and attached lavender ribbon with a black brad
Quick and Simple
And now I can mark my spot in my book of spells!

Check out the rules on the HOW TO PLAY tab

I am so thankful and happy you stopped by today - enjoy your weekend
I am San Francisco bound tomorrow morning to attend my nieces wedding on Saturday
She is getting married at the San Francisco Zoo

Alot of Sharing today...with 3 Freebie images

I rarely have the opportunity to create cards just for FUN
With full time work, social life, training for a Half Marathon...what's a girl to do?
These demands just get in the way of my CREATIVE PLAYTIME
So again I ask...what's a girl to do?
Answer...Why have a marathon card making afternoon of course

And now I have three cards to share with you today, that I created just for FUN!

I hope you will enjoy them

The first one is for the monthly Birdie Brown September "FREEBIE" & Challenge

I love the images at Birdie Brown and this Pumpkin BOO is just too CUTE!

This image is called Kitty Peekaboo and is a freebie this month

I was inspired by this sketch at Krafty Hands
However, to play along there, you need to use one of their products, which I do not have
But I love this sketch and wanted to use it anyway

This is also a 5.5" x 5.5" card

Technique Time Tuesday

Today is the first Tuesday of the month, which brings a new technique for you to try

This month at Technique Time Tuesday we are playing with a technique called...

Faux Silk

Here's my Design Team card I made using the Faux Silk technique

Both the flower image and sentiment are from Close to My Heart (old stamps from my stash)
I used White and Kraft cardstock for my card
The image was colored using my Copic markers:  BG10, BG15, BG23
I finished the card with 3 different Washi tapes
Lavender adhesive rhinestones and lavender floss
I also added a touch of glitter to the center of the flower

This is a close up of the flower so that you can see the texture you get with this technique

Make sure to check out the tutorial on the blog
I know you will be inspired by the creations the Design Teams has shared
I hope you will be able to join in and play along this month
It is always so much fun to learn a new technique and share with others
I look forward to seeing what you all come up with using the Faux Silk technique

Thanks for stopping by today - Catch the Frenzy! - Karen

Holiday Tag Challenge at Moxie FAB World

I have created my project for the Holiday Gift Tag Challenge over at  Moxie FAB World

This is my first time playing along at Moxie FAB World

I've been to the site before, but with Design Team obligations and working full time, I seem to run out of time to play in their challenges, and many other challenge sites as well.   There is so much information, sharing and fabulous inspiration on the site, I was really enjoying looking around. But, I am down to the wire with getting the Holiday Tag done and submitted before the September 2, Midnight EDT deadline, so here it is, I hope you enjoy it!

Here's my tag...

...which I made using a soup can pull tab for the top - a good Up-Cycle embellishment
I love using these pull tabs and adding them to the tags I make
Check out my previous tutorial posts for more soup can pull tab projects HERE

Supplies I have used for this project:
3.5" x 5.5" white card stock base
All designer paper & sentiment from Simple Stories 6" x 6" paper pad - HOMEMADE HOLIDAY
I finished the tag with banners, adhesive pearls and three colors of fibers to make my bow
To add the soup can pull tab, punch a hole and then attach to the top of the tag with a large white brad
Now it is ready to add to any package by simply tying it on with ribbon laced through the tab

I encourage you to take a look at the tags already submitted, be inspired and play along at
Moxie FAB World
You'll might even get a few tags done before the holiday season arrives

Oh and BTW...the winning entries will receive a copy of Holiday Cards & More, Volume 8

I have my fingers crossed :)

Don't forget to check out my other 3 projects from 2012 using soup can pull tabs
See the link above

Thanks for stopping by and checking out my Holiday Tag
