#115 for Try Stampin' on Tuesday

It's Tuesday and we have an awesome sketch for you today - #115 at Try Stampin' on Tuesday

I am still trying really hard to clear it out and use what I have on hand
And I really needed to make this card sample quick and keeping it simple for my post
This is what I came up for my card this week..

I really like how it turned out - below is the sketch

4-1/4" x 5-1/2" stamped up piece of cardstock with this wedding background message from CTMH
I decided to cut a 3" circle out of this piece using my Cricut-George & Basic Shape cartridge
I dug through a box of cut Cricut images that I just have not used and found the Bride/Groom
Bride/Groom was 2-1/2" Real Dial size from the Wild Card cartridge
Banner and layers of paper all from my stash
Pattern paper from 6 x 6 paper pad - Memory Box - Viola
To finish the card - I used some jumbo lavender brads from my stash

Make sure to check the rest of the Design Teams creations/inspiration on the blog
I sure hope you will have a chance to join us and share what you have made

Solid papers used from my old stash of Close to My Heart papers
Pattern paper - Debbie Mumm for Jo-Ann Fabrics and Crafts - Baby Girl 8 x 8 pad
This paper is so fun - shiny and glittery and perfect for a Bling it Up! challenge
I added a lace trim, silk flowers (Wild Orchid) with flower rhinestones to the centers
Rhinestones were added to her dress as a button at the neck, on her shoes as buckles and to dot the "i"
My finishing touch - green ribbon/bow and two pink heart beads hanging from the bow

Now its your turn to get creative and BLING IT UP!
Grab your glitter, rhinestones, flowers and other shiny supplies - Let's see what you come up with!

Technique Time Tuesday

The first Tuesday of the month means a new Technique to share for Technique Time Tuesday

Water Stamping

I hope you enjoy my card, especially because I worked really hard
I was NOT having a good crafty weekend :(

I have to admit that I tried 4 times before I got my sponged background colors just right
I have some well used sponges and realized that I need to buy some new ones or a blending tool

I used Close to My Heart inks in the following colors:
Amethyst, Bubblegum and Sunny Yellow
To go along with this wonderful ribbon I had in my stash

Then I tried some more just to get the right water stamped impression
Some of the images I chose just were not making good impressions on my paper
Yeah! I FINALLY had success with this background swirl stamp I had in my drawer

Oh My!...You should see the mess I left on my desk!

Don't be afraid to try this technique, I am HAPPY I stuck it out and got it done

I hope you will check out the rest of the Design Team creations over at the challenge blog
It's so much FUN to get inspired to try something new when you see the possibilities

I can't wait to see what you come up with

#56 for Tammy's Scrapin' Corner

Our new weekly challenge for Tammy's Scrapin' Corner starts today with a new theme...

April Fools or Funny Birthday Card

Front of card using Party Fruits

Inside of card...

If you have read my other post, you know that I was having computer issues all week
I was not able to print these digital images out on card stock, so this is on plain copy paper
I didn't want to miss my Design Team responsibility or my weekly Monday post
I colored the images using my Copic markers, and too my surprise, they didn't bleed
They are darker, as they saturated the paper more, and I didn't get a great blending of color
However, I did get my card done after our family Easter dinner
Yeah... I am so happy, happy, happy!

The images are from a new sponsor Deasy Designs

We also have SKdigis as a sponsor as well

I really hope you will be able to join us this week for our challenge
I look forward to seeing wha tyou come up with for your April Fools or Funny Birthday Card

Until then - Catch the Frenzy! - Karen

Spring Joy for Scrappy Frogs

Today begins our new monthly challenge at Scrappy Frogs

With the new theme of THINK SPRING

I was having a computer issue and couldn't get some digital images printed, long story,
So I decided to create my Think Spring project using my Cricut
I think is turned out rather sweet

This is a 4-1/2" center step card
Paper from my stash of scraps
Sentiment from Close to My Heart
Cricut cartridge - A Walk in my Garden
page 91 <flwrpt> cut at 1-1/2"
page 97 <rose1> and <rose1-s> cut at 2-1/2"
page 121 <snail> and <snail-s> cut at 1"
I used ink to sponge around the edges of the Cricut cuts and a black liner pen to add detail
To finish the card:  ribbon and bow, black rhinestone for snails eye and blue buttons tied with floss

So come on over the Scrappy Frogs blog to get inspired by the rest of the Design Teams projects
