Back to School CAS style

Today I am posting for my Design Team challenge at The Stamping Boutique

Challenge #51 - Back to School

 

I created a card using Kylie on books and went CAS on this card.

This was from a sketch I saw a while back, but cannot remember where.



Supplies used:
A2 card base folded in half the long way
Copic markers
Red gingham paper
Sentiment from Close to My Heart inked in black
Green grosgrain bow

I {heart} School...

Since I missed my post last week for Pixie Dust Studio,

"Back to School" Challenge and the Blog Hop, I was feeling a little guilty.

I love to share and really do not like it when I miss a DT challenge.

 

Life and work just got a little overwhelming last week.

I am an Office Manager at an Elementary school and students came back last Thursday.

I was pulling some early mornings and late nights, just to get done what needed to get done.

 

So anyway, I wanted to finally share my card that I was going to post last Thursday.

My Card Recipe:

For my card I used Paris Pixie, colored her with my Copic markers.

I eliminated the suitcases, and I thought her little red case looked like lunchbox.

The card is a 5" x 5" brown base, layered celery green and an apple patterned paper on top.

I cut an apple at 4" from my Cricut - Recess cartridge, sponging red and green ink around the shape.

I added black doodle lines and white hi-lights to the apple.

I {heart} School is from Close to My Heart inked with Vineberry ink, also from CTMH.

Finishing Touches:

I added a scalloped edge to the bottom of the card. Celery circle behind the apple.

Jute tied around the bottom edge and around the apple stem, using a wooden button.

Small banners added to the right side of the card and an adhesive pearl to the center of the flower.

Back to School again...

This week at Made Especially for You is our week 1 challenge.

Create a card for the theme of the week using a certain item/product.

Our theme is, "Back to School" using the item/product, Vellum.

This was a great project for me to dig out all that old vellum paper and tags in my stash and use them!

This is what I came up with...

I cut the apple from my Cricut "Recess" cartridge at 4-1/2", added some sponging and doodle lines.

I used the School Desk image from our wonderful sponsor this week, The Stamping Boutique.

Colored the School Desk image with my Copic markers and cut the image out.

Vellum background over black cardstock, stapled in corners. 

Finishing touches, added ABC stickers to a vellum tag and attached to jute bow with safety pin.

It's Back to School...

Already?  At least for me it is!

As the Office Manager for an Elementary School, I started back on Wednesday, August 1st.

There is so much work to be done prior to the first day of school.
I'm already worn out just thinking about getting everything checked of my "To Do" list.

Thank Goodness I can get creative and reduce my stress!

Anyway...
Friday is our challenge day at Digi Haven - our theme this week, "Back to School".
See challenge details below picture.

"Back to School" digi challenge - Use any "Free" Back to School digital image.

as long as it is free for the duration of this challenge.

I thought Thomas would be perfect to use for my "Back to School" card.

I really enjoyed coloring him and wanted his vest to match the paper I had in my stash.

I added staples, a small pencil and used some paperclips for my embellishments.

I had emailed Michelle to find out if the image would be available until the 9th.

Michelle doesn't leave a freebie up that long, however...

She has given me permission to use him for the duration of the challenge only.

Thomas will be removed from my blog at midnight (PST) on Thursday, August 9.
