New monthly challenge for Scrappy Frogs begins today

Our new theme - FREE CHOICE

 

I had such a busy weekend and felt like my creative MOJO had left me... which would be so SAD :(

 

At times I get too use to having a theme or sketch to inspire me from the Design Teams I am on,

an this FREE CHOICE really stumped me and I was limited on time

 

So this is a quick card I am sharing today...

 

What I decided to do was dig through my stash of papers, embellishments, etc...

in hopes of finding something to inspire me

In the end, I settled for using an Echo Park mini theme collection kit called Just Married

There were papers, stickers and punch outs to use. 

I found a scrap piece of aqua cardstock to use and quickly made this wedding card

 

 

I finished it off with a black ribbon/bow and these wonderful teal and silver brads from my stash

 

So I challenge you to make something wonderful - FREE CHOICE of course

but maybe you can find something in your stash to use as well

 

I look forward to seeing what you come up with this month

#115 for Try Stampin' on Tuesday

It's Tuesday and we have an awesome sketch for you today - #115 at Try Stampin' on Tuesday

I am still trying really hard to clear it out and use what I have on hand
And I really needed to make this card sample quick and keeping it simple for my post
This is what I came up for my card this week..

 

I really like how it turned out - below is the sketch

 

4-1/4" x 5-1/2" stamped up piece of cardstock with this wedding background message from CTMH
I decided to cut a 3" circle out of this piece using my Cricut-George & Basic Shape cartridge
I dug through a box of cut Cricut images that I just have not used and found the Bride/Groom
Bride/Groom was 2-1/2" Real Dial size from the Wild Card cartridge
Banner and layers of paper all from my stash
Pattern paper from 6 x 6 paper pad - Memory Box - Viola
To finish the card - I used some jumbo lavender brads from my stash

Challenge Me Monday

This week at Fantabulous Cricut the Design Team members on Team A

are sharing their inspiration for Challenge #121 - Wedding Bliss.

Make a project for a special couple, (Wedding or Anniversary).

Use at least one (1) Cricut cut on your project.

And remember to list on your blog the cartridge(s) used.

I have to admit, I do not have many cartridges with Wedding images.

I did find an image in the Wild Card Cartridge.

Page 63 <Cake) using the Icon feature, cut at 3-1/2".

I was able to create a simple, but elegant card with this image.

I love Red, Black and White together.

I also used George & Basic Shapes cartridge, page 108 circle. 

White circle cut at 4"  and the Black with white polka dots cut at 1-1/2"

Sentiment is from Close to my Heart.

All other supplies were from my stash.

Wedding elegance

Today's share is an elegant wedding card I created for the Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge #152  based on the sketch below.  As I was digging through my paper stash, I found a lovely pattern paper with chocolate brown, shades of teal (or twilight) and cream.  I love these colors together.  Next I took a look at all my stamps that I haven't used for a while and decided on this wedding set, which is an old wood mounted Close to My Heart set.   I wanted to use what I have, so here is my creation.


To make this card:

I started with a 6" x 6" chocolate brown cardstock base.  I added the pattern paper, cut at 5-1/2" x 5-1/2".  Next I stamped a large background stamp with love words and sayings onto cream cardstock.  I cut this piece down to 5" x 5".  All small images were stamped on three 1-1/2" squares in twilight ink.  The Bride and Groom were stamped  on 2-1/4" x 2-1/2" cream cardstock, twilight ink.  These pieces were all mounted to pattern paper cut 1/4" larger.

To finish the card:

I added chocolate ink sponging around all paper with stamped images, Glitter and adhesive pearls for glamour.  A ribbon in a lighter shade of teal was added around a 1-1/2" x 6" twilight piece of cardstock.  I tied a bow in this ribbon and slipped the bow through the hole punch in the sentiment banner that was stamped in twilight ink on cream cardstock cut at 1-3/4" x 4-1/4"  The clear rose button was my final touch.

Now I just need to find someone who is getting married.
