Ladybugs...

Sharing a card I made for my Design Team inspiration post for Whimsie Doodles

I am using Ladybug Day found in the Summer Fun Digi's  tab in the SHOP

Our weather has been so lovely I wanted to make a summery, cheery, bright card

And these cute little ladybugs are a perfect choice

I made a simple easel style card with one of my favorite color combos...

Black, Red and White

The image was colored using my Copic markers:  B00, C-1, C-3, C-5, E31, E33, E35, G14, R22, R27, R29, Y11, Y15, YG06

I layered a black gingham strip from my scrap pile, over the top of a red scalloped border.  The image was layered on red cardstock. 

To finish my card, I stamped my sentiment with black ink and added a cute little stitched die cut heart. Confession time...the heart is covering an ink smudge, but I recovered well!

Fun in the Sun...

Sharing my DT Spotlight card for Kitty Bee Designs today

I am using Ready for the beach penguin

He is adorable with his little snorkel mask and beach toys

I decided to create a little scene for my card this month and fussy cut the images

After coloring the image with Copic markers, I fussy cut the images.  I then cut a circle out of the center of my card, added some sky blue patterned paper to the inside, which created a nice sky in the center and a bottom border.  I finished with a Cricut cut sun and a FUN in the SUN sentiment, then added sequins to make it sparkle.

I used the following Copic markers:  B000, B00, B02, B05, C-0, C-1, C-3, R22, R27, R29, Y02, Y06, Y08, YR02, YR04, YR07

My card today is for my DT Spotlight at Kitty Bee Designs

I am using this cute little Hunny Bear on a Branch

Here's my card...

I think this image, with a bear and bees is perfect for summer

I colored the image using my Copic markers: C-0, C-2, E11, E21, E33, E35, E37, Y02, Y08, Y15, YG06, YG09

I choose bright, cheery primary colors for my summer card...Green card base with a yellow honeycomb background created using a strip of white cardstock.  I ran that strip through my Cuttlebug using a honeycomb embossing folder.  The embossed piece was then sponged with yellow ink

I added a sentiment and finished with a pop of red with a banner and sequins

When Life Gives You Lemons...

Make Margaritas...definitely good advice, especially on a hot Summer day!

My card today is for my Design Team Inspiration post for Whimsie Doodles

I am using this FUN image found in the Summer Fun Digis tab in the  SHOP

The image is called Margaritas

I started with a 11.5" x 4.25" yellow piece of cardstock, which I folded the long way to create an easel style card

I then layered with pattern paper and scalloped border from my scrap box that were perfect for a summer color theme, ocean and lemon yellow

The image was colored with my Copic markers using the following colors:  C-1, E21, E33, R22, R27, R29, Y00, Y02, Y06, Y08

I fussy cut the image and mounted to the additional layer of lemon yellow and white

The sentiment and red rhinestones finished the card

What a FUN card - I hope you like it and if you have Lemons - make some Margaritas!

Fly a Kite...

My share today is for my DT SPOTLIGHT card over at Kitty Bee Designs

This month I am using this image called Kite Fun-Panda

I decided to make a simple card using bright colors and Washi tape

Here's my card...

Started with a sky blue A2 card base, rounded the corners and layered with white

My image was printed and cut out using a circle die

I colored the image using Copic markers:

BG000, BG01, BV00, BV02, C-0, C-1, C-3, RV10, RV13, Y02, Y08

Added to the background 3 coordinating strips of Washi tape

Finished the card with lavender sequins and sentiment

My share today...

My Design Team card for our monthly challenge at Whimsie Doodles

Theme this month - Life's a Beach!

I am using the Dig You image found in the Summer Fun Digi's tab in the SHOP

My card is a yellow A2 card base, folded easel style

I then layered with white cardstock and strip of fun patterned paper

from Echo Park 6" x 6" pad called "I Love Sunshine"

Using a die, I cut the sand mound from a paper I found in my scraps, perfect paper!

I colored the image in the following Copic markers: 

Blender, B00, B12, B23, E00, E02, E35, E53

R22, R27, R29, Y00, Y02, Y15, Y21, Y35

Finishing touches:  Red with white dots layered banner with blue button and jute

SO SWEET!

My post today is a card I made for a Crew Call (Design Team call) over at
Technique Tuesday

To enter the Crew Call, you are given a list of 2012 Techniques to select from. 

You than create a submission using the technique you chose and enter that creation.

I decided to use the Faux Tile technique for my submission.

I chose a digi image from Beccy's Place - Strawberries, which you can find HERE

I used the following COPIC markers to color my image:

Colorless Blender 0, C-1, C-3, G000, G02, G05, R22, R27, R29, Y00, Y02, Y17

My piece was than cut into random 1" x 1", 1" x 2" and 2" x 2" pieces to create the tiles

I sponged around all the edges of each tile with Grey Wool ink

Sentiment from Studio g, inked with Memento - Tuxedo Black ink

Finishing touches include: black adhesive rhinestones, metal tag attached to ribbon with safety pin

 I love the way this card turned out and really enjoyed doing a technique card for a change.

Try Stampin' on Tuesday...

Here's my card for today for my Design Team post this week at Try Stampin' on Tuesday

 

I really love this sketch and it was really fun working with it - thanks Jenn!

 

Sketch # 101

 

Here's my card...

 

 

I am really needed some sunshine and warmth, as it's been so cold in my part of the Pacific NW.

Therefore my card is sunny yellow, spring green and a daisy, makes me feel warm and happy :)

 

Supplies I used:

 

A2 white cardstock base with a layer of sunny yellow cardstock cut 1/2" smaller

I ran this sunny yellow piece through my Cuttlebug using the flower embossing folder

 

The green gingham paper from my Close to My Heart stash

I used the Fancy Topper Die from Jaded Blossom, which you can find HERE

to cut both my gingham and white layers

 

The sentiment from Studio G is stamped with Tuxedo Black ink from Memento

onto a 3-1/2" x 2-1/4" piece of white cardstock

 

Finishing touches:

 

Green Grosgrain ribbon / bow, large white Daisy and adhesive pearls - all from my stash of goodies.

Make a Splash...

This share is for my Design Team post for Fantabulous Cricut,

Challenge #123 - Jump In and Cool Off!

Make a project with a water theme (pool, beach, water park, etc...)

I have to admit that some of these challenges really are challenging for me.

I do not have many cartridges, so I really need the Creative Mojo at times.

Well, after looking through all my cartridges, this is what I made:

I used the "Simply Charmed" cartridge, page 50 <Sun2> cut at 1".

I also found this great slide in the 'Recess" Lite cartridge, cut at 4".

I eliminated his shoes and shirt, added sponging and doodle lines.

The sentiment was created by me on the computer.

Perfect water park slide!

Looking forward to seeing what you come up with.

using the Flip Flop card and a sentiment from the Flip Flop Laundry Line.

I used the front piece of the flip flop only.

I tucked a little envelope inside the border piece, which I made into a pouch.

Tuck a gift card inside this little envelope:

Jamba Juice, Starbucks, your favorite ice cream/yogurt shop, or even for a pedicure.
